Whether you're looking to create art at a Brooklyn block party, experience a powerful play in Harlem, restore your spirit in LA, or enjoy vibrant Brazilian jazz in Miami, there's an event for you. Here’s what not to miss.

🎨 Museum on Wheels at Planet Brooklyn Festival

Looking for the perfect blend of a classic Brooklyn block party and a hands-on creative experience? Join the Brooklyn Museum for an unforgettable day of art and celebration as their Museum on Wheels rolls into the Planet Brooklyn festival! As you enjoy the music and merriment, head to the mobile museum to express yourself by creating unique art and accessories.

* When: Saturday, August 23, 2025, 1–6 pm

* Where: 10 Lafayette Ave., Brooklyn, NY

* Cost: Free! (Art-making activities are first come, first served)

🧘‍♀️ CAAM Connects: Discussion and Breathwork

Join CAAM for a restorative hour of guided discussion and breathwork, designed to bring you into rhythm with yourself and in community with others. Offered in partnership with Feel Seen Wellness, this session invites participants to recognize their own value, without performance or permission. No experience is necessary, and yoga mats are provided.

🎭 FREEDOM RIDERS: A Journey With No End In Sight

At a time when truth is under attack, Harlem Stage sets untold stories free. Don’t miss the 10-year anniversary of this groundbreaking theatrical concert reading—a visceral, heart-pounding performance based on real accounts of racial profiling in America. This is powerful, important theater with a "Buy 1, Give 1" model that sends a NYC student to the show for free with every ticket purchased.

This isn’t just a race—it’s a full-day experience rooted in culture, music, and community. Join thousands to celebrate where you’re from and what you stand for. It’s a joyful, high-energy celebration of culture and crew that starts the moment you step on the ferry, with flags in the air and music pumping, and continues into a full-blown party on Governors Island.

🎷 JAZZ at MOCA featuring SAMAMBAIA

Experience the heart and soul of Brazilian samba with Samambaia, fronted by the enchanting vocals of Rose Max. This partnership brings the exuberant sounds and rhythms of Carnaval directly to the audience, weaving the festive atmosphere of Rio de Janeiro with a refined ambiance. Seating is first-come, first-served, but you're welcome to bring your own chairs.
