Join us for the Queensbridge Community Free Vegan Festival – back for the third time and doing it better than ever! We're elated to announce that The Culture LP will be partnering as a sponsor to bring you a full day of food, fun, and positive vibrations.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 2nd, as we gather at Queensbridge Park from 12-8pm to celebrate health, unity, and delicious plant-based eats.
This festival isn't just about veganism; it's a multifaceted event that centers a commitment to the community with key objectives. Firstly, we aim to introduce the Queensbridge Community and its neighbors to the diverse world of vegan and plant-based food options. Our goal is simple yet impactful – we want to enhance mental, emotional, and physical well-being while nurturing food education. Through this festival, we're taking steps towards building a flourishing food culture in Queensbridge.
Most importanly, this festival is a testament to the founder, Lashawn “SugaRay” Marston’s dedication to community building. The event is rooted in the goal of curating spaces for neighbors to come together to share more than just a meal. The intention is to exchange ideas, energy, and resources to cultivate acceptance, foster growth, and strengthen the bonds of togetherness. It's about fostering an environment where acceptance and fun can go hand in hand with wellness.

Each year, this festival is made possible by the combined efforts of various vendors, organizations, groups, and individuals. While vegan food takes the spotlight, our event is a holistic celebration of health and wellness. In addition to indulging in plant-based treats, attendees can explore yoga, meditation, massage, dance, and music. By providing opportunities for mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness, our festival creates a positive impact on every aspect of human existence.
So, whether you're a seasoned vegan or simply curious about exploring new food options, come join us at the Queensbridge Community Free Vegan Festival. Let's come together to celebrate health, unity, and community while enjoying the incredible energy and flavors of the day. See you at Queensbridge Park on September 2nd!
Thank you to everyone who supported the 5X5 Block Party Series to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop
Reliving the scenes from these past two weekends with @itsallblackmusic as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop. We paid tribute to the 5 elements of Hip Hop throughout its 5 decades by bringing it back to the essence. It all started in the recreation room at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue in the West Bronx, New York. Clive, an aspiring disc jockey going by the name DJ Kool Herc, threw a “Back-to-School Jam” that lasted into the early morning.
Authenticity is the key to longevity” - @saltnpepaofficial. We did more than party to honor the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop, we also hosted two free talks to help bridge the gap and celebrate Women in the industry. A huge thank you to the powerful voices who shared the stage with each other for the 5X5 Talk Series in partnership with @sony For The Music, and the @recordingacademy’s Black Music Collective. The discussions featured Beverly Bond, Rapsody, Dede Lovelace, and Kenya Vaun at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and Salt-N-Pepa, Remy Ma, Flo Milli, moderated by TT Torrez at the LaGuardia Performing Arts Center in Queens.
Thank you to everyone who pulled up, danced, ate, and stayed hydrated with us at the #5X5BlockParty series. Shout out to all our sponsors that made this event possible!
P.S. We gave away 5,000 meals through the festival’s partnership with More Than a Meal and Vitacoco!
