Are you an emerging artist or curator eager to immerse yourself in a transformative 10-month fellowship experience? What is the NXTHVN Fellowship Program?

NXTHVN opens its doors annually to up to seven artists and two curators selected from a global pool of talent. The program offers not only studio or office space and financial support but also a mentorship-driven curriculum featuring sessions led by accomplished artists, curators, scholars, and practitioners.

Unique Elements of the Fellowship:

  1. Professional Development: Dive into a tailored curriculum designed to enhance your artistic practice and propel your career forward.

  2. High School Apprenticeship: Engage in one-on-one learning with a local high school Apprentice, fostering mutual growth and contributing to the development of the next generation of creative minds.

  3. Group Showcase: Culminate your fellowship journey with a group exhibition at a prominent gallery space, showcasing your work to a broader audience.

Application Details:

  • Application Period: December 5, 2023, to February 26, 2024.

  • Eligibility: Open to individuals aged 21 and above, not enrolled in an academic program or other residency during the fellowship year.

  • International Applicants: Studio Fellows may be based in the US or internationally, but please note that NXTHVN currently does not cover travel or relocation costs.

How to Apply:

  • Submit your application through the online form on Submittable.

  • All information submitted must be in English or, if video, subtitled in English.

  • Ensure the provided email address is active.

Selection Process:

  • A panel of NXTHVN staff and alumni will make selections based on your ability to articulate your desire to join the program at this stage in your career.

  • Interviews typically occur in the spring, with the final cohort announced shortly thereafter.

  • Selected applicants will be notified in April 2024.
