Futura Noir 2024: Past, Present, and Forever

Experience the past, present, and future of Black creativity through visual art, music and rejuvenation. A curated selection of programs, recommended by The Culture LP.

A massive thank you to the 600+ guests who made the Quiana Parks HOUSEPARTY edition of “Parks & Rec” at BRIC an unforgettable night! The energy was buzzing as attendees experienced the vibrant art installation, grooved to live DJ sets by Mike Nasty and MORESOUPPLEASE, and experienced the mesmerizing talent of special guest bassist DJ Luna Rósa.

The gallery presentation came alive with Quiana Parks' innovative concepts, featuring new video installations, and original oil paintings, curated by Hugh-Michael. Live dance performances added an extra layer of dynamism to the event, creating the very atmosphere that makes Brooklyn so special.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to everyone who joined us for this immersive experience, presented in collaboration with The Culture LP and Brooklyn Brewery.

DÉJÀ VU: FRIEZE LOS ANGELES

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 21st - THURSDAY, MARCH 30th, 2024

Cierra Britton Gallery is pleased to announce their first LA-based exhibition and collaboration with Abigail Ogilvy Gallery, Déjà Vu opening on February 24th during Frieze week at 1923 S. Santa Fe Avenue Los Angeles, CA 90021. This group exhibition features artists of multiple disciplines including Autumn Breon, Uzumaki Cepeda, Alanis Forde, Lewinale Havette, Jazmine Hayes, Monica Hernandez, Rugiyatou Ylva Jallow, Ambrose Rhapsody Murray, and Kelli Ryan.

Déjà Vu is a group exhibition that explores the idea of multiple realities and worlds built by artists that bring the viewer into the mind of the artist. Inspired by escapism, the works in Déjà Vu include mythical figures, imagined landscapes, and new paradigms that feel familiar to each artist. The title of the exhibit references the common French phrase for the phenomenon of feeling as though one has lived through the present situation before. It is an illusion of memory whereby—despite a strong sense of recollection—the time, place, and context of the "previous" experience are uncertain or impossible.
